AffinEx Protein A Capture
SelectScience: AffinEx Protein A Capture
In this webinar, Dr. Qi Huang and John D. Laycock from Tecan will present AffinEx’s Protein A Capture – a new protein A-bound sorbent for antibody purification with an affinity for IgG and monoclonal antibodies (mAbs). They will also highlight the various applications and workflows that can be accomplished using AffinEx Protein A Capture.
Tecan’s protein A sorbent ships and stores in a dry state eliminating the need for environmental controls with a 24-month shelf life under ambient conditions. Explore how Tecan can leverage positive pressure processing for consistent and efficient extraction protocols.
Key learning objectives
- Explore AffinEx’s poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) matrix
- Learn more about Narrow Bore Extraction™ (NBE™) formatting
- Explore applications for protein A
- Gain insights into workflow solutions using Tecan instruments and consumables
Who should attend?

Presenter: Dr. John D. Laycock, Ph.D. (Tecan)
John D. Laycock joined Amgen in 1998 where he setup of the first small molecule GLP bioanalytical lab. While at Amgen, he implemented laboratory automation, LIMS, and informatics to holistically streamline workflows for bioanalytical sample analysis and reporting throughout all stages of drug development. In 2015 he joined SPEware which was acquired by Tecan in 2016. With Tecan he has been responsible for launching the Resolvex A200 and various chemistry consumable products into the global marketplace.
Presenter: Dr. Qi Huang (Tecan)
As a medicinal chemist, Dr. Qi Huang spent 17 years in drug discovery at Amgen and other organizations searching for novel therapeutics. He moved to Tecan nine years ago, where he has led many product and method development projects providing sample preparation solutions for LC-MS based clinical, forensic, and toxicological tests. Recently, he has joined the chemistry R&D team where he leads consumable product development that includes AffinEx Protein A, a new product line developed for the biopharma industry.
Presenter: Will Thompson (SelectScience)
Will studied Biology at the University of Bristol, UK, and as a member of the Editorial team, he now plays an integral role in shaping the content on SelectScience.
